What do you get when you mix a biochemistry degree with a global pandemic? A lot of time to keep a restless 4-year-old busy...and a new passion for making delicious bread.

Are you sourdough-curious? This is the class for you! In this four-hour, in-person class, you'll have the opportunity to learn and practice the entire sourdough baking technique, from beginning your first starter to scoring and baking (and eating!) a wonderfully fresh and nutritious loaf of delicious sourdough bread.
You'll learn the science of baking amazing bread and the key signs to look out for that your bread is ready for the next stage of the baking process. It's a little bit of chemistry and a little bit of microbiology, all wrapped up in an easy-to-understand class that gives you all the information you need to start baking successful loaves at home.
We use the highest-quality bread flour milled locally by Cairnspring Mills in Burlington, WA. Class size is limited to six in order to give you lots of personal attention and time for practice.
